Climb the southern pyramid and fly to the southern HP. Go back to the waypoint. Head north on your raptor, then jump off the high wall with the griffon and glide into the cave with the HP. Exit the cave to the east, use your bunny to jump onto a ledge and fly through the quarry and then left to the HP. Ride your raptor to the next HP in the east.
they are not lost, when you used a boost which I personally would not recommend if you are new, you automatically unlock all your core class skills and traits, in order to unlock elite specs you need to get hero points from hero challenges, in the core game they give 1 point per challenge in expansion maps they give 10 points and yes you will still be able to unlock everything.
The base game's hero challenges grant 1 hero point, the expansions each grant 10 -- so as such the base game's scolls will cost 1 Testimony of Heroics whilst the expansions will each cost 10 ToHs. Its worth it if you prefer to just play wvw, or want to unlock hero points on alts without having to do map completion -- but if you don't wvw much

Hero points were only added to the expansions because those expansions had elite specs tied to them. If a person only owns PoF, then PoF provides them the hero points to acquire the elite spec that came with that expansion. Same with HoT and EoD. SotO did not add any new elite specs, so no reason to offer hero points to fulfill their requirements.
